3 Reasons You Should Consider Doing Soil Analysis in Your Business
Have you ever heard of soil analysis? If your answer is no, you'll be surprised at how effective it is at improving your business's outdoor appearance
Soil chemical analysis determines the amount of nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P2O5), potassium (K2O), pH, humus content, total CaCO3, lime availability, organic matter, total sulphur (S), sodium, and other physical characteristics (capacity, permeability, density, pH value).
But why is it important to know this information? Here are three reasons why
-
To know the soil quality on my property: Each seed in a field must be placed in the right environment to grow into a fully developed plant. pH ranges are optimal for different crops. Due to this, some crops grow better and achieve their full potential in acid soil, while others are more suited to alkaline soil. For example, in most herb gardens, soil with a low pH (acidic) may work well for blueberries but only for some herbs.
-
To identify the right kind and amount of fertilizer for your garden. The soil analysis determines the micronutrient requirements of your plants. Insufficient fertilizer will reduce crop yields and returns. Using too much fertilizer will waste time and money and cause environmental damage due to nutrient runoff.
-
It is an Intelligent investment. You may be able to protect your investment once you have the results of your analysis and your landscape company is aware of them. By now, both parties know how to maintain a realistic level of nutrients in the soil to ensure optimal growth and avoid potassium deficiency soil.
Are you interested in getting one soil analysis? This is your lucky day, as we are new members of the BOMA Okanagan Chapter; you can get one analysis for free if you book your first landscape maintenance for your business and start fresh the next season.
