VANCOUVER PUBLIC LIBRARY
The Project
Vancouver Public Library's Rooftop Garden opened for use in Sept 2018. This renovation involved cutting the roof off the existing building and creating an outdoor common space for public use that showcases Vancouver vistas. After 23 years since the initial opening of the library a large portion of the roof is now available for the public to use and enjoy.
Our Scope
VPL Rooftop Garden was a 4 month project that involved work on Lv 8, 9 and 10. The primary focus of the project was construction of the public area designed by Connect Landscape Architecture in conjunction with Cornelia Oberlander on Level 9. There was also an extensive replanting of material on the other levels to enhance the space.
